Hampton Court Palace Festival

Hampton Court Palace has been described as Britain at its finest - it was home to one of the most famous kings, King Henry the VIII, and to this day it is home to some of the most beautiful attractions that the country has to offer It is important to know the difference between the Hampton Court Palace Festival and Hampton Court Palace as an  attraction in itself.

The festival takes place on until the 23rd June this year, and it will feature some of the greatest artists to have graced our generations. You can expect to rock live to music by greats such as The Beach Boys, Lionel Ritchie, Paloma faith and more.

They will all perform on the open-air Tudor Courtyard. Other artists who will feature this year include Joe Bonamassa, Jools Holland, Gary Barlow, and Tom Jones. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform and there will be a spectacular fireworks display to top things off.

If you don't get a chance to enjoy the Hampton Court Palace Festival you should book a day to enjoy Hampton Court Palace. The palace was built in 1514 for Cardinal Wolsey but was taken away from him by King Henry later when they fell out (the cardinal wouldn't let him divorce his then wife, Catherine of Aragon). In later years most of King Henry's wives would occupy the palace - a couple of them are said to still haunt it to this day.

There is plenty for both adults and children to do at Hampton Court Palace. You can enjoy The Chocolate Room, the only royal chocolate kitchen in Britain, The Magic Garden, The Maze, The State Apartments where you can enjoy a film about the life and death of King Henry the VIII's wives and you can also enjoy the free daily plays and shows that are staged for visitors.
